There is something that is very underrated about Twice, and it is their ability to do cutesy concepts without trying to be overly cutesy. In most covers of them and especially Cheer Up, the idols covering Twice will try to sound and act cuter, but what Twice do so well is use their natural charm.
Like Mina at the time, was known to not be able to do aegyo, so even tho her parts feature cutesy movements, it doesn’t come across as overly cutesy. It just seems fun and slightly jokey. Mina also had the elegant charm and a softer, smooth voice that was highlighted in the bridge.
Chaeyoung was always more serious in her raps, and Dahyun was always more bright, and it created a synergy.
Sana used her cutesy voice and had some cutesy movements, but she never added much extra cutesy stuff in her expressions other than closing her eyes at ShyShyShy and smiling bright.
Jeongyeon was just fresh and cool and sang in a deeper voice.
Tzuyu had a more elegant vibe, while still having a young charm.
Nayeon and Jihyo just showed a fresh and fun image.
Momo sang in her cutesy voice, but had a slightly sexy and strong vibe during her own parts, and a fresh and bright image during the chorus.
And they all always managed to make each Cheer Up stage look like they genuinelly had fun.
I think this is what makes Twice so unique. ‘Cause rather than being a “cutesy group” as they were often nicknamed before Fancy and Feel Special, and still are to a degree, they have always a fun, natural and fresh group.
It was never about acting as cute as possible, but rather playing off of their natural charms.
In a cute Twice song, there is rarely an idea of “we all have to be the cutesy one”. Instead they play off of each person’s personality which makes it more natural as a whole.
So even if they do a cutesy song there is an elegant charm, a goofy/jokey charm, a sexy charm, a cute charm, a serious charm, a cool charm, and a bright and fun charm.
That is why their songs and the feel of Twice is so hard to recreate by other groups.

I’m a man but my Mom and sister who just visited my house caught me doing Sana’s Shy shy shy in front of our bathroom mirror while I had overheard the song from our neighbour’s house. It was not supposed to happen while I was wearing my favorite Guns and Roses T shirt on that day. Lols. Cheers to ya all 😹

This is the video that my sister made me watch and that day my bias was Sana but now it’s Mina and I just it’s been 4 years since I became a Once huh? I’m 12 now and I’m still thankful for my taste- ehem my taste is always good
