If you manage to sell something like the Eiffel tower then you should get away with it. Put whoever bought it in prison.
There is no way this man was real. The audacity of this man to scam a sheriff of 50 grand, get caught, and then proceed to pay him off with counterfeit money. And even after being imprisoned, he finds a way to escape and taunt the police.
