With the very first James Bond film, 1962’s Dr. No, also came the very first Bond Girl. Actress Ursula Andress helped kick off this time-honored cinematic tradition when she played Honey Ryder. Although technically speaking, she was not the first woman in the film to be with Bond. That honor goes to Sylvia Trench, played by British actress Eunice Gayson. And the first woman to hook up with Bond on-screen was Miss Taro. Altogether there have been 79 Bond Girls featured in the 007 films that have hit theaters in the last 60 years.
While there have literally been dozens of Bond Girls so far, only one actress holds the unique distinction of playing a Bond Girl in two 007 films. Martine Beswick appeared in both From Russia with Love and Thunderball. She’s also known for her performances in Hammer Film Productions cult classics like Dr. Jeckyll and Sister Hyde and One Million Years BC. With a resume like that, it’s undeniable that Beswick earned herself a place among some of the most elite 1960s screen sirens.

Martine is just a legendary beauty from being a bond girl to a horror movie queen. She’s a wonderful actress. Thunderball and Night of the Scarecrow is my favorites.
You seemed to indicate that this particular actress was the only one to play a Bond girl more than once, but that isn’t true as Maud Adams played Bond girls in both “Man With the Golden Gun” and “Octopussy”.
I’m glad Terence Young took such an interest in her and feel sad that she came to America to face such indifference. Prehistoric Women is a silly movie but her Queen Kari is great.
Hats off to Terrance Young. He also tailored Sean Connery’s image as the Bond I and love. She is very beautiful and to play a Bond twice is fantastic. It started with her. But I know that there was a policy of been I a Bond film once. Of we know Maude Adams also appeared twice. Thanks for another wonderful video.
