TWICE!
WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN” EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly “original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation”, personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I’m in remission now! Doesn’t mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don’t take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as “normally” as possible.
When I made this YouTube name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear— me calling myself an “OG kpop stan” does NOT mean that anyone who’s listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

Twice always reserves a spot in their dances to account for a missing member. Like Jeongyeon said before, Twice’s dances are a Harmony of Nine. So even when they are missing a member, their dance still looks on point. But it will look better when danced as OT9 someday.
i like her reactions bc she always notices all the details and appreciates them its nice.
Your comment regarding the formations being kinda off putting to make a statement that Jeongyeon is missing is so interesting! I haven’t though about that but it does make sense because they definitely tend to make their shapes more ‘centered’ than this particular choreography
Side note, I know Dahyun was meant to be the focus at that part but was anyone else extremely distracted by Sana’s cheeky smiling face poking mischievously out from the side at 8:05? 😂😂
About Jeongyeon’s parts, during the chorus, I think they left a space for her in the middle.
Also, if you know Japanese you can see that the gestures are on point. For example, look at the corresponding gesture when she sang “egao” (smile) or “kotoba” (word; though the gesture was listening to it).
Same goes with Nayeon’s “towa no naka” part (naka = inside), Jihyo’s “yurayura” (jiggly or shaking), and Sana’s “sowasowa” (fidgety/nervous), etc.
You’ll notice too that there’s _a lot_ of those repeating words like “kurakura”. They are Japanese onomatopoeia. I believe JYP himself wrote the song and the use of onomatopoeia in various parts of the song was artistic.
As usual they have awesome formations and synchronizations. But the timing and the smooth transitions are just… wow! For example, look at how Tzuyu (from 3:09) and Mina (from 4:15) just walked around without looking and without bumping to anyone. Like how?!
That transition from Sana to Momo, then to Mina, then to Dahyun, then back to Momo again was also _oddly_ satisfying! (Side note: Check out Sana’s cute smile during Dahyun’s part.)
Anyway, as always, good eye and nice reaction! 💕
I didn’t realize how amazing and intricate this Japanese comeback choreography was. Wow thanks for your reaction.
7:51 Twice Main dancers💗💗
Thanks for Reacting✨<3
As you see, Twice is a 9 member girl group. But here, they are only 8 members. Because Jeongyeon, the 2nd tallest Twice member is in Hiatus. 😭
I love that you noticed one of my fav things about Twice choreography, and that’s that when there’s a member missing, they *never* try to smooth out the choreography for only 8 people. There’s a person missing and you notice it. I think it says a lot about how much they value every member of their group, and how they try to give that member their space and time, even when they’re gone. I’m so happy someone else noticed and appreciates it!! ❤️
the fact that tzuyu is tall but the level of their hands and feet are all the same and synchronized. i just feel sad that she bends her knees too much when she’s dancing but she’s killing every dance moves 👏
I don’t know why but Nayeon’s *arm* *ruffles* got me full on hypnotized in the chorus.
Notice how Tzuyu brings her body down at the end of the song just to be at the same level as Chaeyoung… Twice really are perfectionist… #GoTWICE #GoONCE… I really miss Jeongyeon. Stay safe and take care always #OT9
I agree. My first watch of this dance, I had to, HAD TO rewatch it again, and again, and still am. Even now, I’m watching you watch Kura Kura. There is so much they are doing with every move. I really dont know how many kpop groups are incorporating a lot of intricate hand movements to the point that it’s out-right tutting, but the first time I saw it in kpop was in Irene & Seulgi’s Naughty, where their whole dance routine is all tutting. It was amazing. Its seriously pro dance crew level. (By the way Thina, have you seen that choreo? Check it out if you can please. Upload it or watch it for yourself, but it f***in blew me away)
But back to Twice, I LOVE IT. It’s so asthetically pleasing to watch especially when its done by a number of people who can work together 100% With Feel Special, they stated that because it was such a special album for Once, they wanted to work extra hard and produce a song that was memorable. It shows because they stated that it was their hardest choreography to date. Then ICSM and Kura Kura comes out and I think now they know they all know as a team, what they are and aren’t capable of. I think they are able to go 100% because they want to perform better for Once, every time.
That brings me to Twice’s teamwork and their synchronicity. After 5-6 years of dancing together, training, working and getting to know each other, at this point their teamwork is through the roof. I’m sure their placements and movements to change up member positions are done without thinking too much. I think Kura Kura, is arguably the MOST in-synched choreo they’ve done.
If this is a sign of what’s next, I’m EXPECTING to be floored when Taste of Love comes out.
Lastly, I really don’t know who keeps telling you to stop talking during your videos but I don’t care. That’s your style and you. Don’t change for people who don’t appreciate personality shining through in YouTube videos. For me, it’s now your trademark. “Sorry, I keep talking. I’ll stop”. Seconds later… “Sorry….” You’re hilarious!
Your reaction channel is the only one where I actually enjoy the commentary! Keep up the great work
Thank you Thina for giving your dancer insights into Twice’s choreography, wonderful review/reaction to this video.
I think Twice are so confident in how good they are with their choreography that they filmed it in a white room that really focuses on them & there is nowhere to hide any dance slip ups.
Thanks for the hair update & can’t wait for you to dye it purple as it suits you so well.
Take care & stay safe.
while you watch sixteen, twice tv etc. you’ll see how they’ve been through ups and downs together, how they’ve perfected their teamwork, from separate individuals with each having different talents and charisma and now the 9 of them just being one, you’ll realize how they grew right before your eyes. it will hit u hard after you finish the whole thing.
Tzuyu knees omg… she’s doing so much because of her height. Like im noticing more of her and how she’s actually a good dancer it’s just that her dancing makes the dance looks easy when its not.
Reminding you to watch TT first before knock knock hehehe💛💛💛
TWICE 💓💓💓 I’m really into the second chorus and prechorus part when they form diagonal line and make that (southwest as the face and northeast as the back of the choreography) as the second chorus and return to facing the south direction.
