WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN” EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly “original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation”, personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I’m in remission now! Doesn’t mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don’t take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as “normally” as possible.
When I made this YouTube name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear— me calling myself an “OG kpop stan” does NOT mean that anyone who’s listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

The production for this M/V seems a lot better than a lot of their other Japanese tracks. Also I feel like this video has a much deeper meaning with Tzuyu in the tub, Momo with the fire, Jeongyeon in the box, etc. but I don’t really know what it is about.

The Japanese language is very concise, they tend to use (1) word to describe many things. Traditionally kura means “dizzy”, “light headed”, etc… Here they are using “kura kura”, to express the feeling of “losing your head in love”. When you fall in love with somebody and can’t control yourself. “Lose control, of my heart and soul.”
[Note] In Japanese, it basically depends on how you pronounce the word that defines in what context you are trying to use it.
Example = The world famous “nani” really just means “what”, but the way they pronounce it in anime is used to express things like “disbelief” , “confusion”, and “bewilderment”. ◄ American equivalence… WTF?!? 🤭
