Magnus Carlsen was chilling with his friends watching the Liverpool vs Arsenal football match and at the same time playing the Lichess Titled Arena. A young 20-year-old boy from Kolkata, India was excited at getting paired against the World Champion. As luck would have it Mitrabha was paired with the World Champion twice in under an hour and he managed to beat Carlsen on both occasions. How did he do it? IM Sagar Shah analyzes it in this video.
Mitrabha is a very talented youngster from West Bengal. In the pandemic he has won several ChessBase India online tournaments and also the Samay Raina IMvitational. He recently went to Bangladesh and gained 22 Elo points, which has pumped up his rating from 2445 to 2467. He has one GM norm and is soon to be India’s next GM.

At the first instance, I thought it was IM Sagar Shah who defeated Magnus Carlsen. Because the thumbnail was addressing “IM”
He is a very talented young man , he defeated many super GM’s online and he will surely become the next Surya Ganguly of Bengal

I was watching this stream live on twitch.
Magnus wasn’t happy because of the only reason that other players were playing serious chess instead of some fun… Like Magnus was playing bong cloud and he only appreciated the players who were either Bezerking or playing bong cloud.
Anyway, though Carlson wasn’t playing it seriously, Mitraba played beautifully.

Carlsen created the account DrGrekenstein, because he played the whole event with the greke (f3 kf2 or f6 kf7) or in some games manually switching the king and queen in the first few moves and other obviously bad openings just for fun
Magnus was playing without any castling privilege.
