I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and it’s stuck by me ever since. When I made this YouTube name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so… OG + KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear— me calling myself an “OG kpop stan” does NOT mean that anyone who’s listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

One of the big reason TWICE is so big, is because their music especially TITLE TRACKS can be enjoyed by a wider range of age groups
From kids to adults, people can enjoy their music if they are able to break past the prejudice of CUTE CONCEPTS BEING CRINGY & WEIRD especially in a FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Many people had this prejudice thus they had to learn to grow away from it and enjoy TWICE fully
Many people are still put off by the CUTE CONCEPTS yet TWICE has grown away from these prejudices very well and have broadened their musicality in order to appease a wider audience
That’s why they are taking up more mature concepts these past few years
I still think they are under appreciated for the amount of great music they put out but yea we can’t force people to stan them so !!

This is the song that made me fall in love with Twice. I saw Lisa doing the dance and wanted to know what song it was. And I fell down the rabbit hole deep into Twiceland. I’m not a cute concept person but Twice is so authentically cute and feminine that it doesn’t bother me. I never thought I would like a group with so many members or with a cute concept but here we are. JYP has always done an amazing job showing the individual personalities of the members and I think that why it’s so easy to fall in love with them.

I always pay a lot of attention to what you say, specially when it comes to the dance moves, but whenever you watch their MVs, I look at your face just to see one thing that whoever watch Twice have in common: the smile that comes without fail. That’s one of the things I love the most about Twice. They can make people genuinely smile, no matter who is watching. And that knowledge makes my Once heart feel full of pride. 😍

The concept for this MV was bang on perfect. Though…. I have questions for the director. Who in their right mind thought PULP FICTION and LEON / THE PROFESSIONAL count as “romance movies”?!! 😂😂
Also… methinks Thina is the first reactor I’ve seen who didn’t reciprocally tilt her head at the part in the MV where the girls all tilt their heads in unison.
Also, also…. I think this song was also the song that broke Twice’s back on the cutesy concepts. While obviously played up as a joke for variety shows, their responses when asked to show their reactions when shown the song that JYP had written exclusively for them was nothing short of priceless. You could almost hear the “REALLY, Jin-young?!” in their “not amused” faces. 😂😂
