No to offend anyone, but I have noticed that girls groups have more listeners and less fans, whereas boy groups have more fans and less listeners. It’s pretty interesting.
girl groups will always be bigger because they have GP and cultural relevance. BGs are good at selling albums and it’s great but if nobody out of the fandom can name a song of theirs it shows having more streams is always more important
Honestly I’m sad that groups are changing their concepts to be similar to NewJeans rather than trying to find another concept that suits them. Just because it worked for NewJeans doesn’t mean it will work for some other group(s). I would love if companies or groups themselves would find a suitable concept for them and stick to it. Instead of following a trend, why not make one?

People aren’t following New Jeans influence, they’re following PinkPantheress’. Pink started making the drum & bass, uk garage type music since 2020/21, which gave the genre more popularity again after being nearly forgotten about, & unnoticed for years. She started making this type of music before New Jeans, & New Jeans took influence from that sort of music she has BEEN making. It’s sad she’s not getting the credit she deserves.
New Jean’s style is Y2K – it’s not exactly a unique concept, they just reintroduced it properly into K-pop and other groups are taking on the Y2K style more as well. But the return to Y2K was already starting in the western music scene, NJ just made a better mark using it in K-pop.
