PD losing it over and over and over is such a feeling lolll
actually most of twices songs are inspired by future house and future bounce, which are pretty recent genres, although i get why you would think they’re old because the FM modulation that makes the synths “bouncy” was used a lot back in the day.
also the drum you were mentioning is called a tom, which is also really used in (guess what) edm in a ton of genres to build up a part of the song.
i dont know any of the producers besides jyp but it seems they all like to make edm inspired songs, even jyp. that genre has been trending for the last 5 years, brought to light by galantis, don diablo and etc…
Some extra information on the songs for those that may not know:
Rainbow — Written by Nayeon and used Chaeyoung as a muse. The color purple means physical, spiritual and mental healing in Korean Culture as well.
Get Loud – Written by Jihyo. She wrote it in the mindset of someone that is angry. It’s about the strength words have and how you must be cautious about what you say to others. Though she never says it, you can assume it’s a message about how hate comments can easily and do easily affect others.
Trick It – Written by Dahyun. A song about how sometimes you have to say little white lies in order to not hurt those you love.
Love Foolish – Written by Momo. Nothing special to add, just a bop.
21:29 – Written by the members. Titled as such because they finished it at 9:29PM while they were on tour. It’s something they wrote after reading fan mail, and is a message they wanted to give back to Once. During their comeback showcase they also mentioned how Once’s were adding (To Once) : (To Twice) to the meaning of the title, so they adopted that as well.

I just recently started listening to Twice bsides, so this couldn’t have come at a better time! I’ve been missing out on so much of their music for so long, they are a lot better than people give them credit for from just listening to the title tracks!
