Blackpink have an amazing amount of potential but I really wished that YG would let the girls show there skills more or even let them produce music. I also think the 2 year hiatus affected them a lot but I’m glad the album was still somewhat successful but I do hope that in the future the girls can show there great amount of potential…
Blackpink had a comeback a few months ago & just finished their world tour. Jisoo is having a solo & they hinted at releasing a new song too. I don’t think Blackpink is done or reached their full potential. Idk for sure but it seems they might renew their contracts & keep going. They have so much more to show us & I’m proud of them. Yg is the blame for all of their hiatus’s.
For a group that has been together for 6-7 years, barley has any songs, yet still manage to become the biggest kpop girl group in the world is the most fascinating thing to me. The first group that dragged me into kpop lol bc they didn’t have a lot of songs I felt like I would be able to know who they were easily
I was at their born pink concert, and really enjoyed it. But I can’t see myself going to another BP concert, because I would feel like it would just be the same concert. Because their discography is so small, they go through most of their songs in a single concert. So I would be afraid that going to another one of their concerts, would just feel like the same thing, with maybe one or two different songs.
I would not have the same fear with a group that has a much larger discography, since they would probably play their biggest 5 songs in most concerts, but then the rest could change with each concert. This would entice me to go see their concerts more than once.
Jisoo solo is release on 31 March I’m very happy and excited for her solo songs I really want to hear her pretty voice and also want her beautiful , elegant visual 😍😘💜🎶💖
They were my first K-pop group but because of their hiatuses I’ve gotten distannt 😢
They definitely improved a lot ever since their debut, unfortunately people love seeing the worst in people instead focusing on what they have improved on and accomplished. If anything they have so much potential and are showing growth, Jisoo solo coming soon, Headlining Coachella, global brand ambassadors, successfully ending their world tour.
But apparently all their efforts are being overshadowed by few second clips of their mistakes, ticket prices, stan Twitter, etc. They’ve grown so much globally and still have a great amount of potential.. people just gotta be perspective.
U r definitely right about YG intentionally giving less songs to blackpink. Given the popularity and reach of bp it’s an obvious fact that comeback or not, they r gonna slay everytime. But at the same time we can’t take that as an excuse to ignore their minimal discography. Listening to 100s of songs is definitely something not a lot of fans do but nobody actually cares about that. People use shuffle feature anyways and go with whatever song is played. So if u for example have just 30 or 40 songs, believe me u can listen all of them in just few hours. But what after then. U r not gonna listen them again will u.
So having 100 songs will atleast save ur whole day.
Their talents didn’t get wasted tho….no matter what they’re still shining as a group and also as a soloist
they deserved and still deserve better, yg’s way of “promoting” their artists is very questionable.
I actually really loved them and cried when they collab with Selena since I am also a Selenator. But because of their absence for a long time, I shifted to other groups. I love them still but not that much compared to how I loved them before.
Rosé is right about quality instead of quantity, but it’s just that girl you don’t even give quality at all, everything is repetitive so if you like a song and you make copies of it, you will always like it and not because it is of quality, accept it 🙃
Now, I don’t think it should be a problem that they don’t release albums evey year or twice a year like other kpop groups do because that’s being overworked, (but that’s a different topic)
But I do think they should have more songs in the album because no offense, but 8 songs that’s crazy lol
Plus, when it comes to solo albums they legit only allow them to release 2 songs that’s insanity and stupid.
Regardless of quantity BlackPink feels like a designer scam. Their entire last album sounded like a commercial for their designer brands. So sorry Rosé, I’m not buying the “Quality” over quantity argument. And sure they may be tour based but Twice tickets sell at half the price so I feel ripped off there too. The show was great but my bank account hurts a lot longer for such small quantities. Not to mention the 30-50% mark up of merchandise. Every year BP feels more and more like their scamming Blinks and getting fuller and fuller of themselves. They don’t have the same fan gratitude as other bands. I find it hard to continue to call myself a blink when I constantly feel like YG and BlackPink are slapping it’s fan base in the face and stomping their toes.

Blackpink have the potential to be more famous than they are if only they are promoted properly and are given more songs, more albums, more exposure than they have. It’s sad that they wasted their youth on YGE but they can’t fully explore their capabilities. If they don’t renew their contract but still want to be Blackpink, I hope they can choose a company that would treat them right and give them freedom. If they wanna go their own paths after contract, I still hope they’d join a company that would respect them and treat them equally in this male dominated industry, and that they have a great lawyer.
I love those girls so much… I hate what YG have done with them. They could give us much more . . .
“Quality over quantity” is the biggest lie blinks were made to believe. It’s constantly the same formula, same concept, same predictable line distribution throughout the song, etc. There’s no innovation and increase in quality that would justify such long hiatuses
I’m a wh*re for background vocals / harmonies and main vocalists going off towards the end of their songs & I hate that they never explore that side of the girls (only in BYW which wasn’t touched by Teddy). their songs are very simple compared to what groups release, it’s always the same formula it’s like they’re really scared of trying new concepts or going extremely experimental, they’d definitely still sell well if that’s what they’re afraid of. I always know what to expect from them or their solos, there’s never details on their songs and it would be great if they paid more attention to that instead of just adding loud beats and repetitive words.

blackpink has potential which was wasted by yg but if yg is not their then bp can’t reach this level of popularity ,, yg is using western strategy in releasing albums and whenever blackpink comeback was announced there is always a scandal happens
