support for TWICE, the 9 girls are extra talented, vocals, dance, rap, visuals, they got everything!
That low shutter speed freestyle dance sequence is very reminiscent of 1989-ish music videos. (Eg mc hammer can’t touch this, paula abdul forever your girl, etc, etc). This was very popular during that time. Many music videos of that era had similar background dance sequences.
Jordan, the cat is kind of a reference to the commercial of Apple in 1984, where this woman comes up with a maze and destroys the screen. And the cat appeared before in the Scientist m/v, but it could also be a reference to this movie call “You only live twice”, which in one of its posters has a man holding a cat pretty similar to the one seen in the m/v and in Scientist.
That zoom style is one of the most identical in k-pop mv and TWICE’s still slaying it. TWICE’s energy is no joke.
I appreciate you decoding all the MV’s little details. There are a few nuances in the scenes that I initially thought were added for no reason, but once more you come to the rescue by connecting all the seemingly unrelated things so that everything makes sense. 🥰💗
Chaeyoung actually talked about the moment where the screen with the cat gets destroyed with a hammer in their MV reaction video. It’s actually an ode to an old Apple commercial from 1984.
I think it’s meant to symbolise the start of a new Twice era since this is the first album after their contract renewal, and the cat on the screen is from Scientist, the title track of their last album Formula of Love before the contract renewal.

Personally one of the best Twice videos. since they switched from production studio to Rigend film the MVs are more dynamic, the great change in visual effects such as 3D composition and Simulations are very noticeable. I think we’ll have a lot of crazy transitions for a long time !

start with ‘scientist’ during the time before egg hatch. (which they are look worry)
TWICE (might be another team TWICE) get the code, go in cyber world (Mina scene) , go the the egg in cyber space (Jeongyeon open the door, the light is the egg) found out someone try to control the cat (on screen is ‘Chae-stien’ patting a cat(which is the cat in hatched egg) . this remind me of Dr.No )
(also the hammer scene come from ‘apple macintosh adv.’, just this part they said it in ‘TWICE reaction to TalkThatTalk MV.’)
so they safe the cat which hatched in ‘scientist’. (might also all the cat in the world because many cats watching that screen. :P)
(for more relate to the songs, also might be mean, no control or manipulate anything? let them talk by themself. ???)

The cat sledgehammer scene is a reference to the 1984 Apple’s Macintosh Commercial, as for the cat, it was from TWICE’s Scientist MV and probably just an easter egg.
It could also mean that they found ‘LOVE’ because they were creating the Formula of Love and the alien cat was hatched in the end.

So a couple things you missed Jordan.
In Jeonyoung and Tzuyu’s prechorus they referred to past twice songs like Yes or Yes and 1 to 10
