I think the phasing out of sexy concepts has more sinister reasoning behind it, paired with the fact that more groups are debuting minors as well. I just think that more people are not interested in seeing adults anymore. We saw both twice and bp get hate for the outfits they wore in their recent concept photos despite the fact that they are well into their adulthood, maybe you could talk about something like this.
I can’t really explain it, especially considering the fact that English isn’t my first language, but twice’a concept is just… Twice for me. They can have cuter song (like scientist) or classy summer song (like alcohol free) or even elegant retro cb (i can’t stop me) but everytime it just sounds like Twice. they have a very particular vibe about them. Their songs are unique in the sense that I think that no one else could pull them off like they do. They mix elegance and maturity with cuteness very well
TWICE’s bsides are what makes me excited for their comebacks… Knowing that they lean on their TWICE sound in their title tracks, I can’t help but anticipate what their bsides might sound like — tho I know it’ll still have their iconic sound to it.
I am kind of getting retro&disco vibes,maybe we getting citypop twice this time ,honestly twice is the only grp who didn’t disappoint me with any of their cb this year so I’m really looking forward to it , they be outdoing themselves with each cb !
Considering the fact that twice has had more title tracks than blackpink and aespa combind i think it would be boring to always have the same kind of concept/direction. I like how you dont exactly know what you will get its comeback and how the members are much more involved with song writing and composing and they clearly have more control over their releases .They get to experiment with their songs but still keep that twice sound to them.
I would honestly LOVE another “cry for me” type comeback, given the ages of Twice members, I would love for them to go into a more mature concept while keeping the “essence” of twice which for me “cry for me” and “can’t stop me” excelled in. I’m a bit on the fence with what the teaser photo’s represent, they could very well move forward to a sexier concept giving them a new start after renewing their contracts but I also think it could backfire as it will be hard to move away from once they go there
The reason why there were random stuffed animals is because they represent the members. And then of course Momo means peach in Japanese.

Chaeyoung herself has made Twice fan art answering what animals she believes represents the members. Which is why Jeongyeon is a dog and not an ostrich.
For me personally, i like the surprise element in a group…i agree a concrete concept for a group can bring a feeling of nostalgia but for me i like new concepts and variety in genres😅
for a 2nd gen group thats still as popular and active as twice i think the direction they keep on going is just fine. we see twice on a new cb every few months, be it jp or kr, so i think it’s perfectly fine that they keep on experiencing with new and different concepts. in the end, the eras are always cohesive and a lot of fun for the fans, and that’s what really matters in the end
I don’t know what to expect from TWICE anymore. I thought it would be something cute and sassy like scientist but the trailer and the pictures killed that theory. Whatever it is it will definitely mark a big change for them. Sexy TWICE has always scared me. They can definitely pull it off but after you cross that line it’s hard to come back from. I would say I am really happy how TWICE has gradually matured to the point that a sexy concept wouldn’t be a surprise. Overall I’m just excited.
they’re definitely going to follow the y2k, highteen, early 2000s trend which btw is what i have always wanted from them. i also like the chorus they released on tiktok, it just gives u these nostalgic vibes yk?
Twice should do more city pop music or incorporate that into their k pop music. It works very well for them.

i do like how their concepts are always a surprise. it gives me a sense that twice is exploring and experimenting with different sounds and themes, which is all i want for an artist and it’s especially rare in kpop. excited for this cb, it definitely stands out among the releases this past couple of weeks!
I personally think that TWICE is particularily unique because they have these new concepts all the time, and I think that’s fun! Also, I do think that they do have a certain direction they’re going. As time has gone their concepts have become less centered around cuteness, and as they matured as idols, their concepts did so too. However, although their concepts seem to be maturing, I still feel like they always have this iconic “TWICE-cute” vibe to them, which seems to be their theme kind of. Even though they keep exploring these different topics and images, TWICE always has their recognizable vibe to their songs.

I think personally the girls are going in a direction that suits them for who they are. They are at a point in time in which they are women and as women they want to sing songs that feel more comfortable and more out there and I think twice is doing it in a way that’s elegant that’s very beautiful very graceful but it always seem to have this hint of cuteness in it which still tells you This is twice it will always be twice. Ever since fancy, every come back to me I’ve personally have seen more of a mature side a more classy elegant side but there’s always something cute in it that brings you right on back and I like it I like that they are mixing the two together.
I just think that the members want to explore something new and there’s nothing wrong about it. Artist in general are ever changing they can’t be put in one place and fans should understand that.

for me the theme seems to be the 2000s for this cb. now I’m not a once, but I’ve never thought twice have a specific concept, they pull off concepts that vary between cute and classy and I think they’re still sticking to that with this one. like as an outsider I think it’s cohesive with their other cbs at least aesthetics wise cause we haven’t heard the music yet. I’m actually excited for it, I’ve been meaning to get into twice ever since I loved nayeon’s solo
“It feels like they are going back and fort” honestly, I think “Between 1 & 2” is not only about the relation between Twice and Once but also about Twice going back and fort between concepts as well, if JYPE is Smart enough then they will give us Queen of Hearts MV as well and it’s gonna be more mature concept (I know I’m asking too much from the company that never promotes Twice b-sides)
I’d definitely be interested in a video on the phasing out of sexier/mature concepts. its weird I’ve been following kpop for 10 years and i feel like I’m being pushed out because I’m an adult fan? I’m tired of seeing groups debut with younger and younger kids.
as for the trailer, i definitely agree that its giving ‘i cant stop me’, and I’m excited to see all the styling in the comeback stages. i love twice because they’re adults so i can relate to them and I’m excited to hopefully see more of jeongyeon
