Watchfinder & Co. presents:

The Breitling Navitimer is an epic watch, period. It’s got its lovers and its haters for sure, but even its most diehard detractors have to at least acknowledge that, of all the famous chronograph wristwatches, this one is the absolute daddy. And know there’s a new one.

I’ve always felt the Navitimer has a far more iconic design than either the Speedmaster or Daytona. And far from detracting from the impact, the complexity and busyness of the dial actually adds to the appeal for me. It’s just so well balanced and fun, even though the slide rule will remain an enigma in perpetuity … because I just don’t care. What I care about is emotional impact, and the Navitimer provides that in abundance. And that includes the new models. A little expensive perhaps (like all Breitlings), but a fantastic watch nonetheless. I think if Breitling priced their watches closer to Omegas and Tudors they would be more popular and successful. After all, they certainly have the designs to dominate the others in my view.

I never thought I would want a Navitimer or a Breitling in general, but they’ve been really hitting it out of the park lately. The new Navitimers are just stunning.

I always wonder why when coloring the seconds hand they just don`t pop it into the paint – it sure is easier ,faster and not a big deal to automate .Plus the reflection of the back of it in videos like that will be great, not messy

Breitling’s history and back catalogue of designs is phenomenal, but I feel they are failing to hit the right notes with watch collectors. For example, their recent superocean release looks AWESOME and aesthetically appeals to people who understand the deep cut history of the slow chronograph. But then they ruin the magic by relegating the big minutes rehaut to just a design feature with no actual slow chrono functionality.

I have 2 Breitlings in my collection. A Navitimer Heritage which is absolutely stunning and will never leave. The other is a MK1 Super Avenger from 2007 and will likely be sold on before too long. Definitely a watch of its time. 48.5 mm width even on my 7& 3/4 ” wrist is pushing it a touch..lol

The pale-blue dial is pretty — and IMO photographs better — but, in person, the green is simply sensational.

My first love will always be my Hesalite Speedy, but I’ve found myself googling Navitimers more and more in the last year or two. They really do have the equivalent legacy and, dare I say, beauty of design. I’d probably rate Daytona behind an Apple Watch.

Love Breitling exceptional watches, it’s a shame it doesn’t have as much fanfare as it’s swiss rivals

Just pulled the trigger on a Navitimer, my first luxury wrist watch! Ended up going with the 43mm black dial with gold wings, the AB0120 from two generations ago. Should be arriving this week in the mail and I could not be more excited. Most will disagree but I’ve always thought the Navitimer had the coolest loooking dial in all of watchmaking due to its slide rule. I will say I’m not a huge fan of the new models though, I don’t like most of the new colors aside from the black 43 and white 41 models but not a fan of the blue, ice blue, green or mint green ones. Too playful for a serious watch like this in my opinion. Also I really don’t like how they removed the tachymeter scale and the new ones just don’t look the same to me because of that.

Such an amazing timepiece and one I want in my collection at some point. I think it is one of the best looking timepieces ever made.

I love my Navitimer Legacy Edition – it was actually the first luxury watch that as a kid struck a cord and it rang “one day I’ll own one”

The Navitimer was the watch I wanted after visiting my AD for the first time. The new ones: Stunning

I own two and lost it when you called it a portable eye 👁 exam. They are but as you said it’s still just so cool. I feel so much smarter when I wear one of mine. But to be truthful I couldn’t perform a mathematical function on it if you put a gun my head. But no one needs to know that.
