A twice song on react to the k. I’m screaming. TWICE generally makes more accessible music for their title tracks and experiment in the bsides . That’s what I really love about TWICE, I really love classic bubble gum pop and they give that but they have also exposed me to a lot of other styles of music. Thank you for reacting to them this was so nice. Ps: TWICE does a good job of being simple and effective. The producers they use always do a good job of incapsulating the emotions and intention of the song. The production is always solid.
I totally clocked the “three” motif in Momo’s section after the rap but I didn’t catch the other ones! Imo those two bars in particular stand out also because they’re kind of a mirror of the prechorus – proceeding upwards in thirds instead of downwards in fourths.
Re: the waltz-section, I def think it would have been cool to have maybe a version of the prechorus (like a “final” prechorus) where they doubled the length to ratchet up the drama (maybe with the strings building up?).
I also very much agree with the praise for the production/textures/timbre of the song – I think the sound choice, mixing, and vocal deliveries throughout are rly suitable and it’s cool that this type of delivery is starting to become a staple for Twice. I’m not sure I agree with some of the comments about the melodies though, I honestly think all of the prominent melodies in the song are a great mix of catchy and memorable, esp with the little Dorian touches here and there.

My favorite Twice b-side!! I know nothing about analysis, I’m more “I like this vibe, it’s now my favorite”, but I kinda thought the glass breaking was like “Cinderella’s glass slipper breaking”.

I genuinely enjoy TWICE’s title tracks but most of my favorite songs from them are bsides (I Can’t Stop Me and Perfect World being the 2 exceptions).
