Here’s two confrontations for the price of one! All in the same spot within 90 minutes! This is one of the two reasons I film everything. Get the jam, and get the drama! Always good for a later court appearance. First the Queen of Karen’s actually walks over and shuts down my amp in the middle of an inspired jam in front of TIPPING audience members, and has the galls to say “I don’t mean to be rude.” My audience was aghast. It seems I’m busking in an illegal zone in front of a ‘vigil’ and Karen, self appointed justice warrior, who lives in a tent there for six months, smoking, has deemed me inappropriate.

First of all, it’s a legal busking site. It’s been taken over by wokeness. These people think they can do anything they want at any time, in the name of social justice. I was told to move to the garbage cans. Nice invite, Karen, don’t mind if I do! Like an idiot, I moved there, and proceeded to make ZERO tips for the next 90 minutes, because I was far away from traffic. I should have continued to play and called the cops and had her fined for touching my amp. I somehow managed not to say “Keep your hands off my equipment!” I must have been in shock. Never had that happen in 7 years. It says something that I thought I had seen it all on the streets, but this is a new one. It’s refreshing in a way, to discover a new low!

After talking to my audience, who were saying “What the hell was that about?” I moved over 30 feet where music was, incredibly, no longer considered offensive. I started while rap music blared from T shirt man’s booth in front of me. “Fu..k this, fu..k that!’ blasting out across the entire square. That was okay, not offensive, but me playing live blues in front of appreciative people was so offensive it had to be shut off. When I think this city can’t stoop any lower, it does. This was definitely the worst day I had all year. I made nothing in 90 minutes by the garbage can. Then I had listen to T shirt man educate me. I was interfering with his ‘Music’, HE was giving me the opportunity to play, and now I had to ‘move on’ because my hour time limit was up.

I went back to the seabus and played for another 90 minutes, and did a lot better! Made $25! Total take on the busiest day of the year, for 4 hours work and 20 minutes harassment= $33. Who can complain about that?

We are surrounded by them Robin. Everyone is “offended” by something…except you and I apparently. And BTW, calling the C rap coming from the T-shirt tent offends me 🤣. The term you need to use on these entitled jerks starts with an ‘F’ and ends in ‘OFF’. 😎🇨🇦🎸

That’s not a Karen! That’s a Ken! And that ‘Rasta-Fairy’ was unbelievable! Drive on Sir, your music is great.

I love when people approach you and use words like “respect” and “appreciation” when they clearing have no intention of doing either. Keep jamming brother!

Thanks! I like how you handled the people who disrupted your performance. If we want to live in a civil society, we all have to make compromises, concessions and co-operate. I think you understand but they don’t. Keep smiling, you’re doing great things.

Those WOKE folk are dangerous. Amazing the crap you put up with. What your doing is like a real job through its high level of skill and other things that are required like knowing the streets. Did you get my patreon message?

I’m a rock and rap fan (yes, I like both genre, I exist lol) and the shit he was playing wasn’t even true good rap. Keep up the great work your solos and all are amazing, and don’t let anybody stops you.

You have my deepest sympathy! The new age that we’re living is absolutely bonkers sometimes and people have no respect or appreciation for one another. I used to do some busking back in the day here n there. I still want to but I am too scared of being robbed or dealing with crazy people on the streets. I enjoy your videos and your passion in your music.

Your blues is smooth and nice. Take care.

I am confused though as to why you got hassled so much in that spot. I have nothing against rap music, but there was profanity blaring with it, as you said, as children and families were walking by, so… instrumental blues music is more ideal for public places… at least, in my opinion.

Wow, the same two groups who seem to be running things into the ground down here in the USA. As if swearing to a recorded backing track really constitutes music or any socially redeeming attributes whatsoever. At least the rap guy was passive-aggressive in this instance. He was politely arrogant and completely full of crap at the same time. Keep on rocking, Robin!

I would have waited until a cop told me that I couldn’t play there and ignored the man in the skirt who turned the amp off.
Honestly I would probably have chased him off before he got the chance to get close enough to the amp to even get a hand on it.

It was pretty much like this at one job I had being a dishwasher. All my coworkers got to loudly blast crappy rap and pop, but whenever I played rock or metal, not even death or black metal, but just trad. heavy metal, I would always get told to turn it down or they would even turn it down themselves. Of course those hypocrites got mad and acted like I was the bad guy whenever I did the same to them. I’m glad I *used* to work there, because no one else there wouldn’t know good music if it bit them in the ass.

Good to see you jam in a different place ! Then ……. 😳 Emotional break outs ….whaaaa !? Strange days, indeed. You deserve a medal 🥇 for patience, control, civility and some kindness while you’re trying to earn an honest dollar or so. Interesting to see the hassle you put up with in the attempt to Entertain Everyone 😵‍💫 ✨🎸🌟 Ye, Gods , do they want blood 🩸 ♥️♥️♥️👍🏼🌟✨✨

Who was the dude (call it like I see it) that shut off the amp? someone in authority, or just someone walking by? I refuse to empower this nonsense; it’s how it got this bad. I’m sorry and saddened this crap.

How I miss busking in Colorado. Nothing was better than sitting down in downtown Fort Collins and having great music in the air.

Useless people intimidated by talent want to feel they are an authority over you (and want you to acknowledge them as such). It makes them feel better.

This is darn rude, somebody turning your amp off. This is very disrespectful especially when somebody is playing real good and cool.
