Yeah, Momo seems like “struggling ” with Jihyo, like if you see all these year. MoHyo is the rarest Momo ship. I mean…. you know what I mean. 😅

Honestly, I think a big part of it is because both of them really hate being “shipped” the most. And then as they said, the other members kept teasing them about it so they got even more self-conscious and probably tried even harder to avoid crossing any lines. It also didn’t help that they were going on a long drive with the staff right there in the backseat lol. That alone would increase the awkwardness factor x100.
There’s also the part where Momo has expressed many times before that she’s just not comfortable with opening up to/ getting close to (I’m not sure if she meant the group specifically or people in general) those that are the same age or older than her. She recently said on vlive that the only reason why she was able to get closer to Nayeon and Jeongyeon was because they forced her to since they were roommates. There was also another vlive where Jihyo said that she loves being surrounded by people so whenever she’s with just one person, she always tries to bring at least one more to join them. That further limited the already small number of chances that these two would have had to bond on their own.
I think the most surprising part of this date for me was just how shy Momo got. Like I’m used to seeing her go into panic mode whenever Sana or Nayeon get a little too close for comfort, but she really seemed to shut down almost completely here before she finally made a concerted effort towards the end. Almost felt like I was watching a different person. It probably wont happen any time soon, but I would love it if they actually use this experience to form a more personal friendship.
