If anyone got confused like Momo lol, heres a quick explanation.
She’s talking about ‘school age’, as in the grade/year that you are in school. Since the cutoff point of a school year is at September, anyone born between September of the year and the August of the following year fall into that grade/year. Momo, Sana, Jihyo and Mina were all born in the same academic year. So its kinda weird to call someone in the same grade as you as unnie.
Correction: the exact months would be different since Japan and Korea school years start in April and March respectively, but all four of them would still be in the same school grade/year
Momo explained it clearly and with logic. That’s why she has said to have hard time being affectionate with same school-age members, but no problem with the youngest ones.
Momo didn’t seem confused to me and she was sure that Mina never called her unnie. Her explanation was sound.
I like when momo explaining something but got confused in middle but continue talking like nothing wrong 😂
Momo probably just have slight problem explaining it. The culture of Japan and Korea is very different. Korean really emphasize the age difference in their language formality down to the weeks, days and even hours. Japan on the other hand care more about their relationship closeness and setting (school, work place, people you didn’t know) more than age
Nayeon was confused why Mina calls Jeongyeon “unnie” when they are same-aged friends (which they have to be, when Momo and Mina are same-aged friends). Mina explained some time that she just wanted another unnie.
There were actually a few months where JY wanted Mina to call her without honorifics, but she refused.
I’m surprised Momo was able to properly explain her point and it makes sense!
Simply put, Japan and Korea have different age rules. Mina call Jeongyeon unnie because before she learned that she doesn’t have to call her that, she already used to call her like that. While Mina/Sana/Momo is same age friend in Japan. If they are in Japan school they will be in the same grade.

If Jeongyeon and Mina are same-aged friends and Mina claims that she is in the maknae line than it means that Jeongyeon is also a maknae.
So there are only 4 school years: Na, JeongMoSaJiMi, Da, ChaeTzu.
When I just became a ONCE, I really thought that Jihyo is the oldest among them and Nayeon is the youngest. But it was the opposite 😂
Nayeon has that face like “I don’t get it, but I’m going with it” 😂

People are so used to Momo being confused that even her most clear and logical reasoning seems like confusion to them. She’s so well-spoken here and y’all see it as rambling
Jungers, Momo, Sana, Jihyo and Mina are all born within 5 months of each other.
If I remember correctly, they only called Nayeon unnie among that line
