About Jennie and Jisoo:
I believe in the way I placed them. They’re still in the bottom half of the ranking and I don’t find this ranking particularly shocking really.
Blackpink has the reputation of being some sort of rock bottom in terms of vocals in kpop, which after making myself familiar with more groups, I simply don’t agree with.
I got similar comments when I placed Rose 6th on the main vocal ranking.
Jennie is inconsistent, but her good moments are almost too good for a vocalist of her calibre.
And Jisoo; if you listen to the clips included in this video here, I really think she deserves her 6th spot. Jisoo sounded rough on The Show, which I acknowledge in the video but I don’t think she should be lower because of that.
Seulgi is def no.1 here. Love her tone and when she gets to show off what she can do. Winter is a close second, really proud of all the ladies here. They’re all talented and have show improvement through the years.
Winter definitely shined at Coachella, she had the best vocals of the night from the group imo, I truly can’t wait to hear more of her she’s so promising
It makes sense how good Seulgi is when you learn that she’s trained as a main vocalist until a wild Wendy came 😀 One of the best vocal duos in kpop right now tbh
The fact that Seulgi’s main skill is her dancing but has a good technique for a lead vocalist just shows how talented she is. Her solo is a must. Surprisingly, Yoohyeon, Winter and Jeongyeon are some of my fave lead vocalist among the active ggs and if Hwasa is here, she would top this list. Winter just needs more live singing but Coachella is a start and she sings in variety show, she is a rookie so she has yet to show us her skill. JYP is wasting so much of Jeongyeon’s talent when she clearly can slay Twice’s main vocal lines. Her tone is good too. Yoohyeon is surprisingly could be better than Siyeon in technique and a very versatile singer. They just need more recognition.
Yes finally people appreciating Yoohyeon!! She’s really improved since BOCA moving forward (she always had untapped potential!!). You can tell she really trained hard to get where she is now. Her vocal development we stand.
Also agree about Jeongyeon. I would argue her voice did sound better in early/pre twice. Her voice clearly suits more mature styles than Twice’s music. Hoping she can get lines in their new concept. Plus we all know how crappy JYPE’s vocal coaches are… and how ridiculously high their sounds are (feel like they hide her voice)
Seulgi’s position here is undebatable, truly one of the best vocalists in the entirety of kpop, period

Surprised at how high Jennie and Jisoo are in the ranking, I consistently hear a lot of serious problems with their singing. Jennie looses a lot of her technique when belting, she resorts to shouting and Jisoo definitely has a visible problem with tension and nasal tendencies. Overall, great video I love your analyses!
Nayeon being given more lower notes can help refine her lower register even more. Jeongyeon having more belting lines can help her show off more of her vocal prowess… I sure hope JYPE does smth about that
It’s not even surprising that Seulgi is 1. She always delivered amazing vocal performance alongside eith Wendy. Even fans praise her for her vocals and called often main vocal material. Red velvet truly has the best vocal line up

It’s not surprising if Seulgi was here, her voice is calming to me, also her husky/deep voice was beautiful
I am a Winter bias but I do agree Yoohyeon ranks higher because she has more maturity in her voice and got tons of technique. Her voice fits many genre and her English diction is good, helping us to appreciate English songs she sang. But for Winter, I do believe that time will even ripen her techniques. She has very amazing voice. She’s both soft and strong, I wonder what her voice could do with genres far from her usual one. Then she’s full of surprises. We might be surprise to see more of her vocals soon. She’s like that despite being new to the industry. That was their first time facing a big crowd but she sang like pro. Kudos!
Well the thing people always forget about Seulgi is that even know she’s an Ace in dancing but this was only an acquired skill. She always focused more as a vocalist than a dancer but in the past when she couldn’t sing for a short time period , she switched to dancing fearing she won’t be able to debut as an idol. But later on her voice came back as well making her a dual edge sword with her vocal and dancing skills

I’m honestly inlove with Yoohyeon’s voice ever since their debut but there’s just something about Sihyeon that makes me love her voice more.
Seulgi dropping those covers today is more than enough proof as to Why she should be#1. Her range, her tone, her emotion when she sings is Just chefs kiss!!! That’s my baby my favorite vocalist 😍😍😍💛

Nayeon seriously has one of the most flexible/versatile voices – she can perfectly fit her voice to any twice song. Twice songs can be so incredibly hard to sing bc of the high pitch so it can make her a little inconsistent sometimes but I think she deserves to be a bit higher on the list
I don’t know about techniques and technicalities but Winter is one of my favorite vocalists in kpop. Her voice is just my type, I like her soft tone, chewy pronunciation, and her high pitch piercing voice. Not everyone likes it though, but I personally do like it.
Why is there only few one talking about Yoohyeon? Im not a fan of Dreamcatcher (not yet) but she’s so good👌🙀
