Instead of back seating like many others like to do, I want to do something different just to illustrate how deep this game’s systems are, especially boss AI. I want to talk about them AFTER you beat them so I don’t add to the crowd of people trying to tell you how to beat a boss you’re stuck on.

Gyobu Masataka Oniwa: (I wonder how I remembered his name…) While he hits hard and does heavy posture damage, his attacks are so slow that you could just hold block instead of trying to deflect and he would never break your posture because it regenerates faster than he attacks. So it is feasible to defeat him without deflecting a single blow; especially with the almighty firecrackers. Gyobu will punish firecracker attacks after the 3rd time or after phase 1 with an overhead smash. First 3 are free.

Blazing Bull(shit): Best early game strategy I have seen is chasing after it, staying glued to it’s rear and spamming Whirlwind Slash and firecrackers. If you can find a way to sneak up on a bull boss, throwing a firecracker at it while you’re still in stealth will force it to panic and smash into a wall, knocking itself over and giving you the easy deathblow and a way to not have to fight the damn thing at all because it sucks. This is easier said than done but definitely possible with some clever item usage.

I hated that bull. I didn’t even know i can block its attack. Gaaddd watching this gives me traumatic flashbacks 😂

I reeeally love Sekiro, but the blazing bull has to be the worst designed enemy in the entire game. Nothing about it is challenging in a fun way and it simply does not work half of the time with clipping issues, camera FUBARs and stunlocks. Screw that damn thing!
