TWICE!
The number of extremely hot days every year when the temperature reaches 50C has doubled since the 1980s, a global BBC analysis has found.
They also now happen in more areas of the world than before.
The total number of days above 50C (122F) has increased in each decade since 1980.
“The increase can be 100% attributed to the burning of fossil fuels,” says Dr Friederike Otto, associate director of the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford.
BBC Life at 50C investigates how extreme heat is affecting lives across the world.

It wasn’t just that Canada hit 49C. It was that combined with near 100% humidity.
One thing about third-world nations, no matter what resources are found the poor do not profit, only suffer.
We’re toast and we did this to ourselves.
could literally use all that flaring to produce electricity and improve peoples lives.
When you don’t see bumblebees or bees in the summer season any longer, know that nature is suffering!
We need those thorium reactors yesterday. Either that, or back to the stone age we will go.
While I agree we need to move away from oil and gas, many countries especially islands like my country depends on oil and gas income to operate, if oil and gas is cut expect more migration into the EU/US/Canada. As our smaller islands cannot adapt to be competitive in new sectors vs the EU/US etc.
mother nature is giving us a warning
we can either start dealing with ourselves by fixing it
or mother nature can fix it and remove us
So that’s where all of Australia’s heat have escaped to.
Could really use some right now.
We’ve got our self to blame for not looking after our home planet we’re going to suffer like we’ve never suffered before so stop complaining we’re to blame. now we’ve got to live with with it we don’t deserve this world☠️
Don’t worry Africa, we’ll be heading towards a third world country soon
I try not to drive too much and I plant trees, but I hope we’re able to stop big companies from doing so much damage.
Well it’s no surprise we’ve been heading in this direction for quite some time. You reap what you sow and we are long overdue for some dire consequences.
From UK: With the major powers ignoring the evidence and pursuing business as usual there is NO chance of survival for the human race. Greed and power will be our epitath..
Weather Modification is real and detrimental too just like those juiced up viruses sitting in labs around the world. Why don’t the conscious media panic on that, or atleast take that up with the scientists, governments and even private/military entities that have been doing shh’it’ for decades.
There’s nothing more lucrative than investing in crypto, more Especially in this pandemic …..
Bright future ahead of us
By 2030??? If this world has that much time left, I’ll be very surprised!
i dont see we are going to ditch fossil fuel transport very soon. Im from poorer country and i see what kind of ancient vehicles people still drive
So, they can fry or grill food easily 😂
I like how even now no one is doing shit to stop this.
so dangerous that the dude is having a good warm sleep 3:59
African issues (and in this case, issues to do with climate change and the rapidly expanding deserts in Africa) have always been Under Reported.
Unless of course the reportage is to do with the spectacle of War, corruption and hunger, traumatised and confused exodus’ of villagers or otherwise the inimical growing influence of some country called China.
Despite all the economic crisis this is the right time to start up an investment
34°c feels like burning scorching hellfire, 50°c my goodness! Stifling and suffocating. I’m pretty damn sure, forest conflagration also contributes to global warming. September has been hottest month here with temperature hitting 34°c every day with the sun beating down like hellfire and the minute morning breaks, agony sets in with physical discomfort, body irritation, the night, however, brings relief
Despite us being promised we would see a colder climate by Climate Scientists
I’m a 42 year old Norwegian, and I have never seen such a summer as we have had this year. Personally I don’t mind though, because we still get lots of rain, being trapped by the mid-country mountain plateaus, and I can’t afford any vacation to “warm countries”, so it’s been just what I need to survive another dark, Scandinavian winter TBH. We haven’t had many days above 30 though, I think. That’s a very rare event, only a few days each late summers, but of course one have to be blind, willingly ignorant, to not see that things are changing around the world.
Humanity is screwed, and it’s really scary.
Its the hot air from politicians.Get rid of them and we go back to normality.
But cLiMAtE chAnGEs aLl tHe TimE….
How are people seriously denying climate change
That’s all bullshit reasons, we all know coruption and ignorance is main problem in Nigeria 💯👀
