It’s sounds cliche, but we don’t deserve Scotty. Seriously thank you for all that you do.
I wonder if he has conducted an orchestra before.
Hey Scotty I did that trick you mentioned on a few videos ago tightening a terminal connection by hammering in a copper wire between the post and terminal. Worked like a charm no slippage
Excellent tip! So is buying a 94 Celica for $600.00
Why not just have a battery status/life expectancy % on the dash or app on your phone? that seems doable
One of the few original parts left on my 09 Camry, the battery! Even had to replace the starter a few years back. But, I do keep the connections clean and wash the corrosion residue on the battery frequently… Bragging like this will probably bite in the butt on a cold day next winter, when the battery finally craps out…
I have been driving for 55 years. In this day and age of technology and on board computers, why can’t they develop a light that goes off on the dashboard that says, time to replace battery or check battery? Why do you have to wait for a battery to go dead?
What would America do without Scotty’s well received and appreciated advice 👍😬
Scotty knows his stuff!
Ya gotta trust a mechanic with his key ring hanging off his belt. Scotty 💪🏻
Trickle charge occasionally for longer life! Especially if you do a lot of shorty trips and the car sits
Had my 7 year old battery tested. Its in great condition. The mechanic who tested it thought it was a couple of years old!
thank you for sharing this relevant info sir. God bless you!
Hey Scotty. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I have 2013 Honda odyssey . Once the car is warmed up when I put it in reverse and hold the breaks down the car stalls. Before it starts there’s weird rattling/hiccuping sound that comes from under the hood. Any idea what it could be? I’ve changed all the air filters and got my transmission oil change already.
My GMC with side posts never has corrosion, GM has always been a step above the rest.
Iv’e had batteries last 6 yrs. up to 11 yrs. depending on brand name. Two 6 yr. ones(o.k. brand) = (almost) One 11 yr. one (good brand). Spend more w/ good brand name or ALOT more w/ o.k. brand name.
Make your battery last twice as long with this weird simple trick
Simple Green is ‘super awesome’ at cleaning battery corosion away. Spray or soak the part to be cleaned with a lightly diluted SG [with water], from concentrate. Let it sit/soak awhile then use a nylon brush to scrub away the crud while still wet. Repeat if needed and dry thouroghly. Spray with sealer the exposed part.
Damn Scotty I wish I had mechanic like u
